Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Steelers 34-31 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Chargers 52-21 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. Lowest Seed Remaining in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: Guess who is back at #1?  For the second season in a row in The JFF, Shady completes the Regular Season ranked #1 in the Final Regular Season Power Rankings, and he earns the big, red “X” on his back as the primary target to beat among the rest of the members of this season’s playoff field.  Beginning with the Spring 2003 season of The JFF, only three teams have finished the Regular Season ranked #1 in the Power Rankings but failed to win the Super Bowl:  Top Dawgg in both Fall 2003 and Fall 2013, and Shady just last season.  Last season, he was undefeated all the way up until the Super Bowl, but then he lost to Shane’s JFF Seahawks 34-31 in JFF Super Bowl XI.  Can Shady vindicate himself this season?  We shall surely see.  Shady will play either the JFF Patriots, JFF Broncos, or JFF Colts in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference Playoffs.

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Broncos 41-35 OT (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Steelers 26-21 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. Highest Seed Remaining in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: After losing to Kory G, his closest friend in The JFF, Shane and his JFF Cincinnati Bengals really did not have anything to gain by winning their Week Seventeen contest against Dman’s JFF Pittsburgh Steelers.  Nonetheless, Shane’s second-string and third-string players still showed up to play, and it resulted in a back-and-forth AFC North Division battle that eventually knocked Dman’s JFF Steelers right out of the AFC Conference playoffs picture.  Some might suggest that if Shane’s JFF Bengals end up matching up with Shady’s JFF Chiefs in the AFC Conference Championship, then that particular contest could be deemed “the real Super Bowl” (no disrespect to the NFC Conference).  If that match-up between the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the Power Rankings does materialize, it could be considered the most highly anticipated Conference Championship game since the Fall 2004 season when Cadillac’s upstart JFF N.Y. Giants matched up against Wacavelli’s JFF Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Conference Championship (many at the time referred to that game as “the real Super Bowl”).  Shane will play either the JFF Broncos, JFF Colts, or JFF Bills in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference Playoffs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ UNCLE___SAM) 15-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Packers 27-21 OT (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Saints 52-13 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. Lowest Seed Remaining in the Divisional Round of the NFC Conference playoffs

Comment: Still a wee bit traumatized from his Fall 2013 Super Bowl loss to Cliff’s JFF Baltimore Ravens, Top Dawgg made it his mission in Week Sixteen not to allow himself to have to possibly play the NFC Conference Championship in heavy snow weather.  So, he managed to knockoff the NFC’s #2 Seed JFF Green Bay Packers, and now the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will travel through Tampa Bay (where there is usually always warm, sunny weather).  Top Dawgg and fellow JFF league member Air Attack share one thing in common:  Both have won on every level of the JFF playoffs except for the Super Bowl.  So, you would have to believe that once again, the objective for Top Dawgg’s JFF Tampa Bay Buccaneers is “Super Bowl ... or bust.”  Top Dawgg will play either the JFF Bears, the JFF Cardinals (his own younger brother), or the JFF Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the NFC Conference Playoffs.  A JFF Cardinals AT JFF Bucs match-up would be most interesting.  Many would refer to it as “The Parsons Brothers Bowl.”   We’ll see if these beloved siblings end up facing each other in the second round of the playoffs.

Green Bay Packers (@ BarNone12000) 14-2-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Packers 27-21 OT (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Lions 57-27 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. Highest Seed Remaining in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: Tim Dog’s JFF Green Bay Packers have arguably the league’s most underrated defense.  That said though, the Green Bay defense was just not quite good enough to prevent Top Dawgg’s Tampa Bay offense from scoring enough times to win their Week Sixteen match-up.  With the possible exception of Tom Brady, Tim Dog has what could be considered the best quarterback in the JFF playoffs in terms of throwing power and throwing accuracy combined.  The million dollar question is, can Tim Dog beat his Chicago area buddy and Madden friend / foe Cadillac?  Cadillac usually has Tim Dog’s number.  If they meet in the Divisional Round, will Cadillac have Tim Dog’s number again?  We shall see.  Tim Dog will play either the JFF Cardinals, JFF Cowboys, or JFF Seahawks in the Divisional Round of the NFC Conference playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks (@ poefield109) 13-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Cardinals 36-33 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Rams 32-13 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. JFF Bears in the Wild-Card Round of the NFC Conference playoffs

Comment:  The defense of Cadillac’s JFF Seahawks allowed an uncharacteristic 22 points to be scored against them in the Fourth Quarter alone in the “big rematch” contest with his favorite rival in the league and fellow NFC West Division competitor, Damian and his JFF Cardinals.  Originally, Cadillac had stated that he wanted to knock off both of the Parsons Brothers in the same season, so if it ends up being Seattle AT Tampa Bay in the NFC Conference Championship, he may get his wish.  First up though, Cadillac must concentrate on the game in front of him, and that is Que’s very Super Bowl hungry JFF Chicago Bears.  Cadillac has to watch himself.  Earlier in the season, he was guilty of not taking Haywood’s JFF Redskins seriously, and ended up only pulling out a 3-point 24-21 victory in Week Five.  Given that Cadillac out-bid Shady for the ownership rights to the JFF Seahawks, he has the largest monetary investment in this season’s playoffs.

Chicago Bears (@ Queesdoe812) 12-4-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Lions 45-24 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Vikings 31-14 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: AT JFF Seahawks in the Wild-Card Round of the NFC Conference playoffs

Comment: Finally!!  After a two season absence, Que is back in the JFF playoffs.  The last time Que made an appearance in the playoffs, he pulled off one of the league’s biggest “upsets” when his #3 Seed JFF Bears knocked off former league member Mike Ruiz’s #2 Seed JFF N.Y. Giants 26-22 (that particular season, just about everyone expected Ruiz’s JFF N.Y. Giants to advance to the Super Bowl after Ruiz went 16-0-0 during the Spring / Summer 2013 season and finished as the Super Bowl Runner-Up to Pasadena Soldier’s undefeated JFF Houston Texans in JFF Super Bowl IX).  No one in the league really expects Que to upset Cadillac, and that is just the way that Que prefers it to be.  He loves to be “underestimated’ and “overlooked.”  We’ll see what happens in the Wild-Card Round when the JFF Bears and JFF Seahawks match up against one another..

Dallas Cowboys (@ TD33DORSETT) 13-3-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Colts 45-27 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Redskins 49-35 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. JFF Cardinals in the Wild-Card Round of the NFC Conference playoffs

Comment: There are three JFF league members who know how it feels to go through the JFF playoffs undefeated and finish their season as JFF Super Bowl Champions.  Cadillac knows how it feels (Fall 2004 Champion), Shane knows how it feels (Spring 2015 Champion), and Cliff knows how it feels (Fall 2013 Champion).  If there was one thing that sort of took away from Cliff’s Super Bowl Championship was the fact that the Fall 2013 season was the only season that he did NOT participate in the league with his favorite team in real life (the Dallas Cowboys).  Cliff has told this JFF Website Manager & Story Editor a number of times that his #1 goal in The JFF is to win at least one Super Bowl Championship with his beloved JFF Cowboys.  Will this season be the season this goal is achieved?  We shall see.  Once again, Cliff will go up against his “friend / foe” Damian, which will mark the third time in the last four seasons that these two competitive rivals will have faced each other in the JFF playoffs.

Arizona Cardinals (@ INGLEWOODD) 13-3-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Seahawks 36-33 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF 49ers 49-38 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: AT JFF Cowboys in the Wild-Card Round of the NFC Conference playoffs

Comment: The rivalry between Cadillac and Damian is so thoroughly entertaining, that you almost wish that Seattle had dropped down to the #4 Seed or Arizona had dropped down to the #6 Seed.  But … these two matching up in one of the first two rounds of the JFF playoffs wasn’t meant to be.   So, the league has to settle for Damian’s second most juicy rivalry, and that is his ongoing “friendly, but highly competitive” rivalry with Cliff.  Right now, the two “friends & foes” are 1-1 against each other in the JFF playoffs, so this third match-up will be what is known as “the rubber match” (Cliff’s JFF Ravens knocked off Damian’s JFF Patriots in the Fall 2013 AFC Conference Championship, and Damian’s JFF Cardinals squeaked by Cliff’s JFF Cowboys 16-13 in the Fall 2014 Wild-Card Round game).   Buckle your seat belts folks. I smell another classic battle between these two coming up.

Denver Broncos (@ VitalMindz5) 12-4-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Bengals 41-35 OT (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Raiders 77-34 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: AT JFF Colts in the Wild-Card Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: At one point in the league’s GroupMe Chat Room, Shane had said to his good friend Kory G, “If I lose to the JFF Broncos with Tarvaris ‘Action’ Jackson at Quarterback, I will quit the league!”  Well, Jackson pulled off the upset and Shane ended up reneging on his proclamation.  These two friends play an offensive style that is so similar to each other, that it’s almost like watching a JFF league member “play himself.”  If the JFF Patriots beat the JFF Bills for the third time this season, and Kory’s JFF Broncos take care of business against Champ’s JFF Colts, these two buddies might be matching up against one another again in the Divisional Round of the AFC Conference playoffs.  If that happens, it could possibly be considered the most “mirror image of one another” playoff game in JFF league history.

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF N.Y. Jets 40-30 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Bills 24-14 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: AT JFF Bills in the Wild-Card Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: Well, well, well.  Look who finally earned himself a playoff berth in The JFF!!  Even though in many respects, this game was somewhat “meaningless” for Air’s JFF Bills in the sense that they had already clinched the AFC East Division title with a surprise victory over Kory G’s JFF Broncos coupled with an Auto Pilot victory over Tim Dog’s JFF Packers, Air maintains that he was still playing full throttle because he ideally wanted to move up from the #3 Seed to the #2 Seed (which was null and void once Shane’s JFF Bengals defeated Dman’s JFF Steelers).  Air played all of his starters, with the exception of TE Travis Kelce, and now these two AFC East rivals will go at it a third time this season in the Wild-Card Round of the AFC Conference playoffs.  It will be Andrew’s #3 ranked pass offense versus Air’s #1 ranked pass defense (and also, Air’s #1 ranked rushing offense versus Andrew’s #4 ranked rushing defense).  Can Andrew's JFF Patriots pull off a rare 3-0 season sweep of their division rival? Regardless of who wins, a team from the AFC East will be advancing to the second round of the JFF playoffs.

Buffalo Bills (@ ModeOne4Ever) 12-4-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Raiders 45-17 (Week Sixteen); Lost to the JFF Patriots 24-14 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. JFF Patriots in the Wild-Card Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: This season marks the fourth time that Air’s pass defense finished the Regular Season ranked #1 in the league (Air has finished the Regular Season with the #1 ranked rushing defense six times, the #1 ranked pass defense four times, and the #1 ranked overall defense four times).  This season also marks the fourth time that Air’s rushing offense finished the Regular Season ranked #1 (Fall 2004, Fall 2014, Spring 2015, and this season).  All of those achievements aside, Air still has yet to win his first JFF Super Bowl. The closest he’s come has been a two-time Super Bowl Runner-Up status (Spring 2003 season and Fall 2014 season).  During the Fall 2004 season, Air’s JFF Atlanta Falcons swept former league member Chefshow’s JFF New Orleans Saints in the Regular Season, only to lose a heartbreaking 38-35 Wild-Card Round game to Chefshow’s JFF Saints after leading 21-3 in the middle of the 2nd Quarter (to this day, Air says that was his most painful loss in the JFF playoffs, and that he actually cried afterwards).  Now, Air is in the reverse position.  His JFF Bills got swept 2-0 in the Regular Season by Andrew’s JFF Patriots, but he has a “rubber match” coming up.  Is Air up for the challenge?  We shall see!  Stay tuned.

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Chiefs 34-31 (Week Sixteen); Lost to the JFF Bengals 26-21 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: Season has ended

Comment: Talk about having a season that was "so close, but yet so far away."  Dman was 1-5 against human competition this season, and all five of his losses were by 5 points or less (he had a 1-point loss to his cousin Top Dawgg, a 3-point loss to the JFF Colts, JFF Bengals, and JFF Chiefs, and a 5-point loss in his second game against Shane’s JFF Bengals).  One current league member and one former league member can more or less empathize with his frustrations (During the Spring 2004 season, former league member Beau a.k.a. ‘ShowBiz’ missed the playoffs with a 9-7-0 record, and six of his seven losses were by 7 points or less; Also, during the Fall 2005 season, Air’s JFF Falcons finished 7-9-0, and seven of his nine losses were by 7 points or less).  If just ONE of Dman’s five losses would have been a victory instead, Dman’s JFF Steelers would have been the #6 Seed instead of Andrew’s JFF Patriots.  Dman becomes the second JFF league member in a row to finish the Regular Season with the #1 ranked overall defense (and #1 rushing defense) to fail to make the playoffs (during the Spring 2015 season, Jody a.k.a. ‘Musashi’ finished the Regular Season with the #1 ranked overall defense and #1 pass defense, but failed to make the playoffs).  This JFF Story Editor congratulates Dman on a very good, solid, competitive season.

Indianapolis Colts (@ champ31p) 12-4-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Cowboys 45-27 (Week Sixteen); Defeated JFF Titans 38-14 (Week Seventeen)

Next Up: vs. JFF Broncos in the Wild-Card Round of the AFC Conference playoffs

Comment: The last time Champ participated in The JFF during the Spring / Summer 2013 season, his JFF New Orleans Saints were 5-1-0, and seemingly headed toward a berth in the playoffs, but then, unfortunately, Champ was in the middle of playing a human vs. CPU game when Da Commish advanced (it was actually past the advance deadline), and it caused his JFF Saints to earn a loss to the CPU-controlled JFF Broncos.  The very next day, Champ quit the league and was never heard from again . . . until THIS season.  Now, Champ’s JFF Colts are in the AFC Conference playoffs as the #4 Seed, and they will be looking to avenge a 52-10 loss to Kory G’s JFF Broncos (Champ had not yet purchased the ownership rights to the JFF Colts when that loss took place in Week One).  The ‘good’ news for Indianapolis is that starting QB Andrew Luck is back after a four week absence due to injury.  Indianapolis is 10-2 in games where Luck played, and they were 2-2 in the last four games of the Regular Season without Luck.

Next Up: Season has ended

Comment: The only active league member who has had a longer playoff “drought” than both Andrew and Que is Deuce.  This season marks the third straight season that Deuce’s JFF Texans failed to earn a playoff berth, and two of those three seasons, they missed a playoff berth by only ONE GAME (Fall 2014 season and this season).  Deuce has already expressed that as long as he can maintain the ownership rights to his favorite team in real life (the Houston Texans), he would always be willing to participate in The JFF Online Madden League.  Congratulations to Deuce on another good, solid, competitive season. Hopefully, Da Commish will definitely decide to sponsor at least one more season to give Deuce yet another opportunity to shoot for a playoff berth.

Comment: Unfortunately, Haywood was the only human user in the NFC Conference to miss out on a playoff berth this season, but at least he gained the opportunity to compete with his favorite quarterback on Madden NFL (Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins).  If Haywood could have knocked off the JFF Texans in Week One, the JFF Seahawks in Week Five, and the JFF Colts in Week Thirteen, he would probably be the #6 Seed in the NFC Conference playoffs right now instead of the JFF Bears.  Oh well.  There is always the future.  Congratulations to Haywood on a good, solid, competitive season.

** Pasadena Soldier abruptly quit the league after his Week Seventeen loss to the JFF Denver Broncos

Comment: I believe deep down, that former league member Victor Saucier a.k.a. Pasadena Soldier knew he would probably end the Regular Season excluded from NFC Conference playoffs action, so therefore, he chose to abruptly terminate his league membership right after his 24-10 loss to Kory G’s JFF Broncos in Week Seven.  Now, he will forever be known in JFF annals as a two-time quitter of the league.   And that … is a shame.   Oh well. Such is life.
