Baltimore Ravens (@ viking2150) 4-0-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Rams 45-13 (Week Four)

Next Up: AT JFF Browns (Week Six); vs. JFF Seahawks (Week Seven)

Comment: Last season, Kory G – Owner / Coach of the JFF Browns – was arguably the most outspoken league member in the league’s GroupMe Chat Room. Not any longer. So far, that title now goes to James who is the Owner / Coach of the JFF Ravens James will initiate trash talk with anyone and/or defend himself against trash talk from anyone. Recently, he was cocky enough to say, “By the end of the season, I will have the best rushing offense in the league,” a comment that JFF Colts Owner / Coach Air was willing to debate. Two tough teams coming up: the #2 team in the Power Rankings, and then the #3 team in the Power Rankings. I cannot recall any #1 team in JFF history having to face the #2 team and the #3 team in the same week.

Cleveland Browns (@ VitalMindz5) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Raiders 24-17 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Seahawks 49-30 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Ravens (Week Six); AT JFF Chargers (Week Seven)

Comment: Who HASN’T Kory G. gotten into a trash talking session with in the last week or two? Kory G had verbal battles in the league’s GroupMe Chat Room with The Natural, The JFF Ravens’ James, Brett of the JFF Titans, Rza of the JFF Bears, and anyone else who was willing to engage with him. Kory let it be known, “It’s nothing personal … I am just super competitive. I feel like I am the best.” Kory intimated that he might shed some of his “pure SIM ways” and move over to the “dark side” of the “anything within the league rules goes” in his upcoming games. Speaking of games, it doesn’t get any better than a #1 team in the Power Rankings taking on the #2 team in the Power Rankings this early in the Regular Season. Honestly, this Story Editor cannot remember the last time such a match-up has taken place at this point in the Regular Season.

Seattle Seahawks (@ Ball_Is_Life044) 3-1-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Browns 49-30 (Week Four)

Next Up: AT JFF 49ers (Week Six); AT JFF Ravens (Week Seven)

Comment: The offense of the JFF Seattle Seahawks showed up in the match-up with the JFF Browns, but their defense went AWOL unexpectedly while giving up a season high 49 points. Back to the defensive drawing board? JFF Browns QB Johnny Football (Manziel) threw for 332 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Cleveland HB Ben Tate rushed for 96 yards and 4 touchdowns. Ouch! The bad news is, Seattle’s schedule does not get any easier this week. First up, Cadillac’s rising-to-the-top JFF 49ers and then right after that, James #1 ranked JFF Ravens. Ouch, Double Ouch, and Triple Ouch!!

Philadelphia Eagles (@ Queesdoe812) 4-0-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Falcons 29-27 (Week Four)

Next Up: AT JFF Bills (Week Six); vs. JFF Saints (Week Seven)

Comment: Que and his JFF Eagles will be tested for sure in Week Six as his #4 ranked Philadelphia team takes on the #5 ranked JFF Buffalo Bills. If that match-up wasn’t enough, then Que has to turn around in Week Seven and compete against the JFF New Orleans Saints. If Philadelphia goes 2-0 in their next two games, there are more than for real. 1-1 … struggling a bit. 0-2 … time for concern.

Buffalo Bills (@ ShadySlick) 5-0-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF N.Y. Jets 31-10 (Week Four) ; Defeated JFF Dolphins 38-10 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Eagles (Week Six); AT JFF Bengals (Week Seven)

Comment: After five weeks of competitive league play, the JFF Bills have established themselves as the most potent offense in the league in terms of offensive yards accumulated per game (and they are #3 in terms of most points scored per game). Can any team in the AFC East prevent this team from having a cakewalk toward the division title? Right now, it doesn’t seem likely. Next up: Que’s JFF Eagles.

Carolina Panthers (@ MWSTheNatural) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Saints 31-3 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Falcons 38-20 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Buccaneers (Week Six); AT JFF Cowboys (Week Seven)

Comment: Last season, if there was anyone who tolerated Kory G’s outspoken ways more than anyone, it was The Natural. Sometimes, it seemed like The Natural was willing to play the role of “big brother” to Kory G. Well, not so much this past week. The two league members went verbal toe-to-toe in the league’s GroupMe chat about Kory’s mouth, ego, and thin-skinned sensitivity to criticisms and trash talk. What’s interesting is, at one point back in Spring 2004, The Natural WAS Kory G. Young, brash, cocky, and willing to tell and show anyone in the league how great his controller skills were in relation to Madden NFL. Now that he has some years behind him and has matured, he just has to smirk and shake his head at all of the cocky youngsters in the league who love to talk smack and desire to challenge his throne. Now, The Natural simply says to himself, “Kids these days.”

Tennessee Titans (@ TDBarrett) 5-0-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Texans 31-20 (Week Four) ; Defeated JFF Colts 28-16 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Patriots (Week Six); AT JFF Buccaneers (Week Seven)

Comment: Brett a.k.a. “The Chosen One” recently went 2-0 in the AFC South division, and earned the respect of his fellow AFC South division rival, JFF Colts Owner / Coach Air Attack. Air commented that Brett’s ability to take control of his receiver and complete a “user jump catch” was “hard to stop,” and it set off all sorts of controversy in the league’s GroupMe Chat. Some referred to it as a “glitch play” while others defended the PS4 controller gesture by saying that user catching is the most joyous experience in the world of Madden. We’ll see how far this team can go. Week Seven should be a good game.

San Francisco 49ers (@ poefield109) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Cardinals 17-14 (Week Four) ; Defeated JFF Packers 24-21 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Seahawks (Week Six); “BYE” Week (Week Seven)

Comment: Cadillac told this Power Rankings Story Editor, “How dare you disrespect me and my game!! These 49ers are not done!!” After reeling off four straight victories, who am I to argue? San Francisco has now won three straight games against Damian’s JFF Cardinals, and it looks like they do not want to relinquish that NFC West Division title. Next up: the high-powered offense of the JFF Seattle Seahawks.

Indianapolis Colts (@ ModeOne4Ever) 3-2-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Chargers 21-6 (Week Four); Lost to the JFF Titans 28-16 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF N.Y. Jets (Week Six); AT JFF Jaguars (Week Seven)

Comment: Air said that when he matched up against the defense of Brett’s JFF Titans, he couldn’t help but experience a feeling of Déjà Vu. “Brett’s defensive scheme, at least against me, was pretty much just like The Natural’s defensive scheme. Both of them rarely deviate from the 46 Normal formation, and they look to neutralize and heavily defend your counter plays, off tackle plays, strong power plays, with the intention of forcing you to pass or run up the middle.” Rarely are the JFF Colts out-rushed, but Brett’s JFF Titans racked up 225 rushing yards, while Indianapolis had to settle for only 181 rushing yards.

Chicago Bears (@ REDRZA) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Chiefs 20-17 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Broncos 20-17 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF River Hogs (Week Six); AT JFF Cardinals (Week Seven)

Comment: Rza is slowly but surely starting to make his presence felt in the league. In the process, his JFF Bears knocked off two straight AFC West opponents, including his good friend from way back, Afroman and his JFF Broncos. Rza said that just about all of his players CFM confidence levels are down, and one Owner / Coach in the league had a theory as to why that is. “Cutler. If Rza traded away JFF Bears QB Jay Cutler, then everyone on his team would have a confidence level of 90 or higher. Keep Cutler on the team, and their confidence will always suck.” LOL. When you think of the NFL’s Chicago Bears, that assessment is probably more valid than invalid.

Portland River Hogs (@ PhillyFet21) 3-2-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Lions 37-3 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Chargers 31-21 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Bears (Week Six); “BYE” Week (Week Seven)

Comment: If divisions could be altered in Madden 15’s CFM, many feel that the JFF St. Louis Rams and the JFF Portland River Hogs should trade places. After all, the NFC North is for Midwestern teams … not teams from the Pacific Northwest. That said, this “new” team in The JFF just picked up two more victories, and if they manage to pull off an upset versus Rza’s JFF Bears …. look out!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@ UNCLE___SAM) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Cowboys 31-13 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Texans 47-27 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Panthers (Week Six); vs. JFF Titans (Week Seven)

Comment: Top Dawgg’s JFF Bucs averaged 39 points per game in their last two games. Let me repeat that. The defensive-minded Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored almost 40 points per game in their last two match-ups. The extra “boost” in offense will be much needed when they face the likes of The Natural’s JFF Panthers and The Natural’s defensive protégé, Brett and his JFF Titans. Are the JFF Bucs up for the challenge? Top Dawgg does not want to go 0-2 this week.

Dallas Cowboys (@ TD33DORSETT) 3-2-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Cowboys 31-13 (Week Five); Defeated JFF Redskins 17-7 (Week Six)

Next Up: “BYE” Week (Week Six); vs. JFF Panthers (Week Seven)

Comment: Last season, Cliff was almost as quiet in the league’s GroupMe Chat Room as Que, Kruz, Jon Jon, and a few others are this season. This season, Cliff has been participating more in many of the lighthearted GroupMe trash talk sessions as well as the “male bonding” moments that promote league camaraderie. Cliff even encouraged Da Commish to extend an Olive branch to his old friend and former league member Anthony “Big Dose” Rhodes. You can Just consider Cliff to be one part Jason Garrett and one part Dr. Phil.

Denver Broncos (@ Afrodamus) 4-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Packers 30-24 (Week Four); Lost to JFF Bears 20-17 (Week Five)

Next Up: “BYE” Week (Week Six); vs. JFF Steelers (Week Seven)

Comment: Speaking of being quiet in the GroupMe Chat, Afroman is super-duper quiet. Me thinks he is just “getting a feel” for a league that is new to him. Back in the day, Afroman was one to write a lot of posts on the old PFL / MWS Forum, but this season – his first in The JFF – he is just concentrating on taking care of business and winning.

Arizona Cardinals (@ INGLEWOODD) 2-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF 49ers 17-14 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Rams 44-17 (Week Five)

Next Up: “BYE” Week (Week Six); vs. JFF Bears (Week Seven)

Comment: Damian lost to his NFC West nemesis Cadillac yet again, and then later took out his frustrations on the Auto Pilot version of the JFF Rams. So now, the question has to be asked: Can Damian’s JFF Cardinals make it back to the NFC Conference playoffs this season? JFF Eagles look good. JFF 49ers, JFF Panthers, and JFF Seahawks look strong. JFF Bears and JFF River Hogs are legitimate contenders. The JFF Buccaneers (Damian’s brother), the JFF Saints, and the JFF Cowboys are in a position to make a run for a playoff berth. Where does that leave Arizona? We will surely find out after Week Seven (JFF Bears), Week Eight (JFF Seahawks), Week Nine (JFF Ravens), and Week Ten (JFF 49ers again). What a tough schedule for the JFF Cardinals.

New Orleans Saints (@ xROA-_-) 3-2-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Panthers 31-3 (Week Four); Defeated JFF N.Y. Giants 29-10 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Falcons (Week Six); AT JFF Eagles (Week Seven)

Comment: Ryan has to feel like, “If you take The Natural out of the league, I am undefeated!!” And he would be correct. New Orleans’ upcoming contest against the low-key JFF Eagles should give him a good gauge of where he really stands. The JFF Saints are ambitiously aiming for that #5 Seed or #6 Seed in the NFC Conference Playoffs.

Oakland Raiders (@ JohnnyWadd) 2-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Browns 24-17 (Week Four); Defeated JFF Chiefs 28-10 (Week Five)

Next Up: “BYE” Week (Week Six); vs. JFF Packers (Week Seven)

Comment: Look whose back? Statistically, the JFF Raiders have the #5 Overall defense in the league and the #3 pass defense in the league. They had a “respectable loss” against the #2 JFF Browns, and then knocked off their AFC West division rival, Kruz’s JFF Chiefs. Can Musashi’s JFF Raiders get on a roll and surprise some folks?

Miami Dolphins (@ JoshHimself) 1-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Bills 38-10 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Chargers (Week Six); AT JFF Texans (Week Seven)

Comment: Let’s not sugar-coat things. Josh is struggling. Big time. Last season, the JFF Miami Dolphins were one of the top teams in the AFC Conference, ultimately earning the #2 Seed in the AFC Conference playoffs. This season, similar to the NFC’s JFF Arizona Cardinals, this team has a serious uphill climb in front of them if they have any desire to repeat as the AFC East Division Champions.

Pittsburgh Steelers (@ Stikskillz) 3-1-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Bengals 36-35 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Chiefs (Week Six); AT JFF Broncos (Week Seven)

Comment: Talk about “flying under the radar?” The JFF Steelers currently have the league’s #1 overall defense AND the league’s top rushing defense. When you have to go up against the JFF Browns and the JFF Ravens twice in a season, you will need that type of defensive play. Next two games against two AFC West opponents are CRUCIAL for Pittsburgh’s playoff aspirations in the AFC.

Kansas City Chiefs (@ K-R-U-Z-702) 2-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Bears 20-17 (Week Four); Lost to the JFF Raiders 28-10 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Steelers (Week Six); “BYE” Week (Week Seven)

Comment: Kruz’s JFF Chiefs suffered the biggest drop in this week’s Power Rankings after losing to both the JFF Bears and JFF Raiders, two teams that were previously ranked below them. Can this team bounce back against the JFF Steelers? We shall see!!

San Diego Chargers (@ jayqeezy) 1-4-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Colts 21-6 (Week Four); Lost to the JFF River Hogs 31-21 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Dolphins (Week Six); vs. JFF Browns (Week Seven)

Comment: Like Arizona and Miami, Jon Jon’s JFF Chargers are definitely struggling. Against Air’s JFF Colts, San Diego’s offense could not even get into the endzone and against the JFF River Hogs, the offense scored three touchdowns, but gave up 4 touchdowns and 1 field goal. At least all four teams in the AFC West are ranked.

Washington Redskins (@ SwagPapa19) 2-3-0

Most Recent Results: Defeated JFF Patriots 24-17 (Week Four); Lost to the JFF Cowboys 17-7 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF N.Y. Giants (Week Six); vs. JFF Rams (Week Seven)

Comment: Big victory against the JFF Patriots for Papa Swag, but then a disappointing loss against their NFC East division rival, Cliff’s JFF Cowboys. The JFF Washington Redskins are not out of the race just yet, but they have to remain focused and consistent.

New England Patriots (@ SLIMDAWG1979) 2-3-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Redskins 24-17 (Week Four); Defeated JFF N.Y. Jets 32-24 (Week Five)

Next Up: vs. JFF Titans (Week Six); “BYE” Week (Week Seven)

Comment: Who has more passing yards in the league than all other quarterbacks in The JFF after Week Five? JFF New England Patriots’ QB Tom Brady, that’s who. Who has more receiving yards in the league than all other Wide Receivers and/or Tight Ends after Week Five? That would be JFF Patriots’ TE Rob Gronkowski. It’s simple: Stop the Brady-to-Gronkowski connection, and you’ll win. Good luck.

New York Jets (@ IM50_tyson_) 1-4-0

Most Recent Results: Lost to the JFF Bills 31-10 (Week Four); Lost to the JFF Patriots 32-24 (Week Five)

Next Up: AT JFF Colts (Week Six); vs. JFF N.Y. Giants (Week Seven)

Comment: “Jets OTB.” Tony recently encouraged Da Commish to think about executing three or more CFM seasons on a single edition of Madden NFL in the future. “Building a team from scratch is really what makes participating in a CFM league fun,” the JFF N.Y. Jets Owner / Coach said. “If you’re only going to run one or two CFM seasons during each installment of Madden NFL, then that defeats the purpose of the whole CFM concept. I would like to see The JFF run a minimum of three seasons per edition, and as many as four or five possibly.” A thought for Da Commish to act on? We shall see!

Teams that dropped out of the Power Rankings in this installment:

JFF Green Bay Packers
